Photorejuvenation (resurfacing) is the use of light to fight the signs of aging and the symptoms of skin diseases. The light emitted by the laser helps to slow down the aging process. It also treats changes related to acne, blood vessels and removes discolorations. The parameters of the photorejuvenation laser allow you to adjust its operation to the type of skin and problems that the patient wants to get rid of, which is why resurfacing can be performed on virtually anyone. The areas subjected to the treatment are mainly the face, neck, cleavage, bust, hands, but it can also be performed in places with stretch marks or scars.

There are two types of laser emitting heads:

• alexandrite wave – a light source that precisely hits melanin, and thus strongly affects skin pigmentation,
• neodymium-yag wave – generates light that deeply penetrates the skin, which directly affects the reconstruction of its layers. During the treatment, a large dose of heat is generated that stimulates collagen, which contributes to the thickening of the skin.

Hybrid technology allows the use of lower parameters of both light sources during the procedure. Thanks to this, the risk of complications is minimized, the procedure is safe and at the same time very effective. Importantly, laser therapy does not require convalescence and can replace much more invasive surgical methods, such as surgical lifting, which requires hospitalization.

Laser photorejuvenation is painless – the photorejuvenation laser uses cooling technology, which eliminates unpleasant sensations. After the procedure, the skin may be red and swollen for several hours, and it will take several days to heal. However, only after about 6-8 weeks we will see the final effect – the skin will gain a uniform color, become more tense, firm, moisturized, and the oval of the face will be lifted.

It is usually recommended to perform 3-5 treatments at intervals of 6-8 weeks. After the resurfacing treatment, you do not need to use preparations that accelerate skin regeneration. The only product applied by the cosmetologist immediately after photorejuvenation is a cream with a high sunscreen, protecting the treated area from UV radiation, which also contains a delicate pigment that hides redness.

In the skin subjected to photorejuvenation, the following occurs, among others:

• shortening of collagen fibers under the influence of heat,
• stimulate the production of elastin and collagen, improving skin firmness,
• wrinkles shallowing and reduced pores,
• stimulation of the deep layers of the skin and stimulating the mechanisms of its natural reconstruction, pigmentation inskin is reduced.

As with most laser treatments, there are also contraindications, including:

• pregnancy and breastfeeding
• skin diseases, viral, fungal and bacterial infections,
• tanned skin,
• photosensitizing and antidepressant drugs,
• pacemaker,
• cancers,
• epilepsy.
