Rosacea

Acne treatment Zakopane – Medical Clinic Podhale Art. We cordially invite you!

It is worth remembering that rosacea is a troublesome, chronic inflammatory skin disease, the development of which is spread over time. Its initial symptoms are quite inconspicuous, and the erythema appears and passes away. However, if they begin to be accompanied by the so-called spider veins, a small pimple and papules appear on the skin, and the irritation persists, this may indicate that the problem is rosacea. This is what distinguishes it from couperose skin. However, it differs from ordinary acne due to the lack of blackheads. Some people suffering from this ailment, as a result of its treatment, may develop overgrowth and fibrosis of the reactivity of the sebaceous glands.

Symptoms of rosacea include:
  • erythema and persistent redness of the face,
  • telangiectasias, i.e. small, visible vessels,
  • burning sensation in the middle of the face (T zone),
  • small skin changes, eczema and papules,
  • overactive and prone to irritation,
  • sometimes skin growths around the nose.
Contributing factors

The changes appear and worsen mainly as a result of stress and exposure to solar radiation, but also:

  • endocrine disorders (e.g. menstrual disorders, thyroid diseases),
  • consuming hard-to-digest food and alcohol,
  • overheating of the skin, e.g. when using a sauna,
  • use of swimming pools with chlorinated water,
  • the use of external glucocorticoid preparations on the face skin,
  • the use of drugs that lower cholesterol,
  • taking high doses of vitamins B6 and B12.
Treatment of acne in Zakopane

Unfortunately, rosacea cannot be cured 100%. However, it is worth introducing appropriate countermeasures to calm the symptoms and make the problem less troublesome in everyday life. There are two effective methods of fighting this disease:

  • anti-acne therapies that can be used by a beautician,
  • problem-oriented treatment under the supervision of a dermatologist.
Anti-acne therapies in a beauty salon

In the dermatological clinic at the Medical Clinic Podhale Art in Zakopane, we use specialized therapies to treat rosacea, selected by our experienced specialists to the individual needs of the patient.

One of the modern methods of rosacea treatment used in our clinic in Zakopane is laser therapy. Laser treatments for rosacea are becoming more and more popular. Their advantage is quick and effective reduction of erythema and closing of dilated blood vessels that appear on rosacea-affected skin. A skilfully applied laser can bring immediate relief and soothe the most bothersome symptoms of rosacea.

Dermatological treatment

In the dermatology clinic at the Medical Clinic Podhale Art in Zakopane, we also treat rosacea. A visit to a dermatologist is recommended especially in the case of an advanced problem and symptoms that cannot be eliminated with standard care activities at home or in a beauty salon.

In the treatment of rosacea, mainly topical treatment is used, e.g. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotic ointments such as metronidazole, clindamycin and tetracycline. Oral antibiotics and general treatment can also be used, in which we eliminate possible causes of rosacea, e.g. gastric insufficiency, hormonal disorders or vitamin deficiencies. In the case of hypertrophic lesions that may appear in the advanced stage of rosacea, surgical treatment may be necessary to remove excess connective tissue.

Dermatological treatment of rosacea gives the best results if it is used in conjunction with appropriate care and cosmetic treatments. To completely calm the symptoms and forget about the problem, it is worth using both treatment and appropriate treatments – otherwise rosacea may recur.

Recommendations

The skin of a person suffering from rosacea is extremely sensitive, prone to mechanical and chemical irritation (cosmetics ingredients), and therefore requires special care to rebuild the damaged protective layer.

In order to prevent recurrence of rosacea, it is worth following orders such as:

  • appropriate supplementation, incl. iron and vitamin B12,
  • use of mild, non-irritating cleaning agents,
  • avoiding washing your face with soap and water only,
  • use of hypoallergenic and delicate cosmetics,
  • eliminating peelings and irritating cosmetics from care,
  • avoiding alcohol and other stimulants, e.g. cigarettes,
  • hormonal tests and control of hormone levels,
  • proper diet, avoiding spicy spices,
  • skin protection against heat and sun.
